Solution

Material used:

  • Lead Pb
  • Dilute Sulfuric acid H2SO4.

Reaction summary:

  • This reaction can be carried out using a dilute acid with active metal. The salt so formed then passes into the solution and can be obtained by crystallization.
  • When Lead Pb reacts with dilute Sulfuric acid H2SO4, Lead sulfate PbSO4 will be formed along with the liberation of hydrogen gas H2.

Balanced chemical reaction

Pbs+H2SO4dil.PbSO4(aq)+H2

Use of Lead sulfate PbSO4:
