1. The same genotype is maintained which is already suitable to the existing environment.

2. Pollination does not depend on external carriers such as insects or wind.

3. Pollen wastage is very low.

4. Purity of species is well maintained or offspring is identical without gene diversification.

5. It ensures recessive characters are eliminated.
