Solution
Nephron:
It is the functional unit of kidney.
It is also known as uriniferous tubule.
It originates in the cortex region and extends into the cortex-medulla region.
A kidney may have more than 1.2 million nephrons.
Glomerulus
It is a tuft of capillaries present in the cup-shaped cavity of Bowman’s capsule.
In a kidney, renal artery divides into a number of capillaries and arterioles mostly in the cortex region.
The capillaries coil and form a knot like structure known as glomerulus.
Blood enters in the glomerulus through afferent arteriole and leaves through efferent arteriole.
