Solution

Step 1: We have,

A=2-620, B=-3240 and C=4002

Now, according to the question, we get

A+2X=2B+C

Putting the given matrices, we get

2-620+2X=2-3240+4002

We have seen that all the given matrices have same order that is 2×2, now

2-620+2X=-6480+4002

We know that two matrices have same order then the corresponding elements of both the matrices can be added or subtracted to each other.

2-620+2X=-6+44+08+00+2

2-620+2X=-2482

Step 2 : By using transpose method, we get

2X=-2482-2-620

⇒2X=-2-24+68-22-0

⇒2X=-41062

⇒X=12-41062

⇒X=-2531

Hence, X=-2531
