How do bats find their prey in the dark?

Bats are nocturnal:

1. Such animals that are inactive during the daytime and become active at night are called nocturnal animals.
2. These animals have all of their senses highly activated and efficient in functioning.
3. Some of the animals that are nocturnal include- bats, moths, wolves, etc.

Hunting by the bats:

1. Bats use the technique of echolocation for navigating and hunting their prey.
2. Bats produce the sound of variable pitches, which before bouncing back to the bat, bounces off their prey.
3. By analyzing these vibrations bats sense the presence of their prey.
4. For performing echolocation bats have large eyes which helps in low-light vision.
5. Bats also possess a very efficient sense of hearing and smell.
