Zellweger syndrome:

1. A genetic disorder called Zellweger syndrome affects newborns.
2. Soon after birth, it seriously impairs the nervous system and metabolism (the process of turning food into energy).
3. The brain, liver, and kidneys are impacted by Zellweger syndrome.
4. In order to have Zellweger Syndrome, an individual must have a mutation in both copies of the genes involved.
5. Zellweger syndrome is a rare congenital condition in which an individual's cells have fewer or no functioning peroxisomes.
6. It's a leukodystrophic condition that belongs to the Zellweger spectrum.
7. Neuronal migration, placement, and brain development are all affected by Zellweger syndrome.
