Lenticels:

1. A lenticel is a porous tissue comprising cells with huge intercellular spaces
2. They are found in the periderm of secondarily thickened structures, the bark of woody stems, and the roots of dicotyledonous flowering plants.
3. It acts as a pore, allowing direct gas exchange between internal tissues and the atmosphere via the bark, which is otherwise impervious to gases.
4. Lenticels enhance oxygen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor exchange in plant bodies that induce secondary growth.
