Open in App
Solution

Separating camphor
  • When this mixture is heated, camphor sublimes and forms camphor vapours and gets separated from the mixture.

Separating chalk powder
  • When the resulting mixture containing common salt and chalk powder are added to water.
  • As common salt dissolves in water so it forms a homogeneous mixture with water.
  • The chalk powder being insoluble forms a heterogenous mixture with water.
  • So, the chalk powder can be separated from the resulting mixture by passing through a filter paper.
Obtaining salt
  • Common salt can be separated from the obtained filtrate by evaporation of water.
