How will you separate sand and water from their mixture?​

We will separate sand and water by the sedimentation followed by decantation.​

SEDIMENTATION: The mixture is left undisturbed. As sand is heavier and does not mix with water, it settles down at the bottom.​

DECANTATION: Water(which is now the top layer) can be separated into another container by decantation, and thus, this mixture will be separated.​
