If opposite charges attract each other, then why does an electron revolve around the nucleus of an atom rather than just falling into the nucleus? In other words, why do electrons revolve around a nucleus and are not attracted to it?

The electrons revolving around the nucleus are actually attracted by it. But, as they are moving with high velocity, the acceleration caused by this attraction is just enough to cause a change in direction of velocity making the electron to move in a circular orbit around nucleus.
