Solution

The correct option is A Benji - 3, Alex - 4, Susan - 5
Let’s assume:
Number of balloons popped by Benji =B
Number of balloons popped by Susan =S
Number of balloons popped by Alex =A

According to the question: Points for popping 1 balloon =2
Total points scored by Benji =6
Total points scored by Alex =8
Total points scored by Susan =10

Total points scored = Points for popping 1 balloon
Number of balloons popped

Total points scored by Benji =2×B
6=2×B
2×3=2×B
On comparing, we get B=3.

Total points scored by Alex =2×A
8=2×A
2×4=2×A
On comparing, we get A=4.

Total points scored by Susan =2×B
10=2×B
2×5=2×B
On comparing, we get S=5.

Thus, Benji, Alex, and Susan popped 3,4, and 5 balloons, respectively.
