According to the Euclid's Division Lemma,
Given: Dividend = 13, Divisor = 5
Let quotient = x.
so, remainder = 3x
Dividend = Divisor × Quotient + Remainder
⇒ 42 = 5 × x + 2x
⇒ 42 = 5 x+ 2x
⇒ 42 = 7 x
⇒ x =
42
7
= 6
So quotient is 6 .
