Total number of strings connected to 5 kg mass and its pulley = 5

So total tension force applied on 5 kg mass =5T

Tension will be same throughout same string.

The force equation for the 5 kg mass:
5T5g=5a1 (1)

The force equation for 2 kg mass
2gT=2a2 (2)

Equation from string constant is
5a1=a2 (3)

Substituting in equation (1)

5T5g=a2

Multiplying equation (2) with 5.

5T+10g=10a2 (4)

Adding equation (1) and equation (4)

5g=11a2

a2=5g11 m/s2; a1=g11 m/s2

Solving equation (2) to get T:
T=2g2a2

=2g1011g

T=12g11 N

Hence, options (b) and (c) are the correct answers.
