Solution

a)AIDS

AIDS spreads through the following ways:

  • Unprotected sexual interaction with an already infected person.
  • Reusing needles used by an infected person.
  • From an infected mother to the baby through the placenta.
  • Blood transfusion from an infected person.

(b) Influenza
  • Influenza is a viral infection that attacks the respiratory system - nose, throat and lungs.
  • Influenza is commonly called the flu. At first, the flu may seem like a common cold with a runny nose, sneezing and sore throat.
  • It transmits through air/droplet, direct contact, fomite-borne. Therefore, if we come in contact with a person who got influenza, we are likely to get sick as well.
c) Cholera
  • Infection of cholera occurs through contaminated water and also by dust and flies that sit on excreta and may transfer germs to exposed food.
  • Food handlers with dirty hands can also transmit the cholera germs.
