Calamine: Calamine is made up of two different minerals.
One of which contains Carbonate and the other is not Carbonated.
ZnCO₃ is a formula for Calamine.
Because the Zinc in ZnCO₃ coexists with the Carbonate, it is used for the extraction process of Zinc and not to Carbonate.
The chemical formula of Calamine mineral is Zn₄Si₂O₇(OH)₂H₂O.
Since no Carbonate is present in the mineral of Calamine, there is no possibility of it being a Carbonate ore.
Therefore, Calamine is not an ore of Carbonate, it is an ore of Zinc.
