Is cobalt a micronutrient?

Micronutrients:

1. They are needed in small quantities for plant growth. (less than 100mg/kg of dry matter).
2. They are called minor or trace elements.
3. Boron, copper, iron, chloride, manganese, nickel, sodium, molybdenum, and zinc are the minor elements.

Beneficial elements:

1. They can compensate for the toxic effects of other elements or can replace an essential element in a less specific function.
2. The four beneficial elements include sodium, silicon, cobalt, and selenium.
3. Cobalt is needed for nitrogen fixation that occurs within the nodules of legume plants.
