Properties
Non- metals are generally soft (diamond is an exception which is really hard)
They are poor conductors of heat and electricity (graphite is an exception which is a good conductor of heat and electricity)
They have low melting and boiling point (graphite and diamond are exception which is having high boiling point)
They do not make ringing sound when struck (non-sonorous)
Examples: Carbon, oxygen, nitrogen
