(a) - (ii), (b) - (iii), (c) -(i)
Mixture of chaff and paddy:- Winnowing
It is used to separate grain from the chaff. It involves throwing the mixture into the air so that the wind blows away the lighter chaff, while the heavier grains fall back down for recovery.
Iron powder from a mixture of iron and aluminium powder:- Magnetic separation
Magnetic separation is a technique that is used to separate a mixture of magnetic materials like iron from non-magnetic materials like aluminium. A magnetic is introduced into the mixture of iron and aluminium and iron being a magnetic material attracts to the magnet and stuck on its surface.
Common salt from seawater:- Evaporation
Sodium chloride (common salt) is usually obtained by heating the mixture of sodium chloride and seawater. Water has a boiling point lower than that of sodium chloride so it converts to vapour state and only sodium chloride (common salt) is left.
