By selling apples in a day, an apple seller makes a profit equivalent to 16 more than twice the number of apples sold by him. If he sells 'a' number of apples in a day, find the algebraic expression for the proft made by him.

Number of apples sold by the seller in a day = 'a'
Profit made by him = 16 more than twice the number of apples sold
The algebraic expression for the same will hence be 2a + 16.
