  1. These are unicellular, prokaryotic organisms.
  2. They do not have a well-defined nucleus or membrane-bound organelles.
  3. They have a cell wall made of peptidoglycan.
  4. They are known as decomposers and help in cleaning the environment.
  5. However, some of them are also pathogenic in nature.
  6. Example: Erwinia amylovora, MLO (Mycoplasma-like organisms).

  1. Diseases caused by Erwinia amylovora:

Fire blight: Blossoms of the plant appear watery and soaked.

2. Diseases caused by MLO (Mycoplasma like organisms):

Crown gall: Ball-shaped outgrowths appear on stem and branches.
