On the basis of function, neurons are classified into following types:
Sensory neurons: These neurons carry impulses from sensory organs like eyes, ear, nose, tongue and skin, to the brain. For example, unipolar neuron.
Motor neurons: These neurons carry signals from brain to spinal cord and then to the muscles in response to stimuli. For example, multipolar.
Interneurons: These neurons connect one neuron to another neuron. For example, bipolar neurons.
