Solution

The three basic structures found in both the plant cell as well as in the animal cell are:

Both plant and animal cells comprise membrane-bound organelles, such as endoplasmic reticulum, mitochondria and the nucleus.

  1. Endoplasmic Reticulum: Endoplasmic Reticulum is a complex network of tubular membranes exclusively present in the cytoplasm of plant and animal cells.
  2. Mitochondria: Mitochondria are membrane-bound organelles found in the cytoplasm of all eukaryotic cells, that generates adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the main energy molecule used by the cell.
  3. Nucleus: A nucleus is defined as a double-membraned eukaryotic cell organelle that contains the genetic material. Nucleus is also called the brain of the cell.
