The correct option is B ₹ 40

Let the original price of Rice/kg=R, and the original weight of rice purchased=Wkgs.

So, initially R×W=1200.....Eqn(i)

Due to 25% hike in price, new price of rice/kg=1.25R=(5/4)R, and new weight=(W6)kg

Now,(5/4)R×(W6)=1200,RW6R=1200×4/5=960
from eqn.(i),12006R=960 or 6R=1200960=240.
R=240/6=40per kg.
