Solution

  • Electrolysis is the chemical decomposition of a compound present in a molten state into its substituent parts by passing an electric current to it.
  • When acidified aqueous Copper Sulphate solution is electrolyzed with Copper electrodes, a reddish-colored substance is formed.
  • The reddish-colored substance is the Copper(Cu) which gets deposited at the cathode.
