According to Rutherford’s model, the positive charge of the atom is concentrated over a very small part of the atom called the nucleus and the negatively charged electrons revolve around the nucleus such that the overall atom is neutral.
Negatively charged particles revolve around the positive charge. Here, they are accelerated and emit electromagnetic radiation which will result in the collapse of the electron into the nucleus.
Hence, Rutherford’s model was not able to explain the stability of the atom.

Thus, statement - 1 is true and statement - 2 is false.
