Given mass of oxygen = 50 g
Gram atomic mass of carbon = 12 g
Gram atomic mass of oxygen = 16 g

Let the required mass of carbon be x grams.
Number of atoms of carbon = number of atoms of oxygen.

Number of atoms = Mass of elementGram atomic mass×Avogadro's number

x12×6.022×1023=5016×6.022×1023
x=50×1216=752=37.5

Hence, the required mass of carbon is 37.5 grams.
