Since, we know that the ploidy level of endospem of angiosperms is 3N while that of Root cell (Somatic cell) is 2N, where N is haploid number of chromosomes.
Thus, if 3N endosperm = 18 chromosomes
then, 2N Root cell will have = 18/3N X 2N = 12 chromosomes.
So, correct answer is '12'.
