Solution

Step-1: Calculate the volume of nucleus

As nucleus is considered to be spherical, therefore formula to calculate volume of nucleus

Vn=43πrn3

where Vn= Volume of nucleus

rn= radius of nucleus

As rn= 10-15 m

Therefore, Va=43π(10-15)3

Step-2: Calculate the volume of the atom

As atom is also considered to be spherical, therefore formula to calculate volume of an atom

Va=43πra3

where Va= Volume of an atom

ra= radius of an atom

As ra= 10-10 m

Therefore, Va=43π(10-10)3

Step-3: Calculate the ratio of Volume of nucleus to the volume of an atom

VnVa=43π(10-15)343π(10-10)3=10-45+30

VnVa=10-15

Vn=10-15Va

Hence, the volume of nucleus is 10-15 as compared to the volume of complete atom.
