Number of apples in the basket “ n” = 5
Cost of the whole basket with apples c=$12
Cost of the basket a=$2
Let x be the cost of one apple.
Hence,
Cost of the basket = Number of apples Cost of one apple + Cost of the basket
c=nx+a
12=5x+2
122=5x
5x=10
x=105
x=$2
