Two ropes, one $8$ metres long and the other. $12$ meters long are to be cut into piece of the same length. What will be the maximum possible length of each piece be?

A] Length of two ropes is 12 m & 8 m
Finding GCF of 12 & 8
$12 = 2 \times 2 \times 3$
$8 = 2 \times 2 \times 2$
$∴$ GCF = 4
Thus , maximum length is 4 m .
