Solution

The correct option is B

13

Explanation for the correct option:

Step 1: Find the value of P(AB)

we have given A and B are independent events,

P(AB)=16,P(A'B')=13

we know that, P(A'B')=P(AB)'

P(AB)'=1-P(AB)

13=1-P(AB)

P(AB)=1-13

P(AB)=23

Step 2: Find the value ofP(A).

We know, P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AB)

P(AB)=23,P(AB)=16P(AB)+P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)

P(A)+P(B)=23+16

P(A)+P(B)=56.....(1)

we have given that A andB are independent events,

P(AB)=P(A).P(B)......(2)

From equation(1) and (2), we get

P(A)=13

Hence, the option(B) is correct.
