The name of the cation is written first followed by the name of the anion.
The oxidation state of metal is written in parenthesis in roman numerals.
The prefixes tetra and hexa indicates four and six ligands respectively.
For complex cation, the name of the metal is written as such but for the complex anion, the name of the metal is written by replacing last alphabate e with -ate.
