Cohesive force:- This type of force can be described as that force that exists as a force of attraction between the molecules of the same substances.

For Eg.:- In, H2O the hydrogen bonds are held together by a cohesive force.

Adhesive Force:- This type of force can be described as that force that exists as the force of attraction between molecules of different substances.

For e.g. :- A half glass filled with water. When half glass is filled with water then the particles will remain stuck to the glass due to the adhesive forces between water molecules and the glass.
