What are gram variable bacteria?

Gram variable bacteria:

1. There are a few bacteria species that can't be classified as gram-positive or gram-negative.
2. This is due to the fact that these bacteria appear as a combination of pink and purple cells when stained with gram stain.
3. As a result, they are categorised as gram-variable bacteria.
