  1. A hermaphrodite is a creature with complete or partial reproductive organs and gametes associated with both male and female sexes.
  2. Many creatures lack distinct sexes.
  3. In these communities, sexual reproduction takes place in which either partner can behave as the "female" or "male."
  4. Hermaphroditism, also known as monoecious or bisexual, is present in several fish species and plants.
  5. Self-fertilization occurs in the majority of hermaphroditic species.
  6. Examples- tunicates, a few snails, earthworms, etc, are hermaphrodites.
