Describe moraines (1 mark)
Explain their formation (1 mark)
Mention their types (1 mark)
Solution: Moraines are depositional landforms created by glaciers on gentler slopes and are one of the major depositional landforms. After erosion, fragments of rocks are carried down the slope by glaciers; these sediments are called glacial till. Once a glacier stops at a place, they deposit all these sediments and form moraines. There are different types of moraines like lateral moraine, ground moraine, median moraine and terminal moraine.
