Characteristics of a mixture:
1. It is formed by the physical combination of two or more substances.
Example- Air is a mixture containing various gases and dust particles. The components of air are mixed with each other, not combined chemically.

Example- In a mixture of water and sand, we can vary the amount of sand or water as per the need. But in all the cases, we will get a mixture.

Example- In a mixture of iron filings and sulphur powder, the magnetic property of iron is retained.
