A fermentation process, in which yeasts convert carbohydrates in the form of sugars, fruits, and cereals to ethanol, carbon dioxide, and other metabolic byproducts is called alcoholic fermentation.
The alcoholic fermentation process occurs in living organisms but the highest yield can be obtained by yeast (Saccharomycescerevisiae).
Example for alcoholic fermentation: Distillation of beer wort creates whiskey.
Wine is a form of alcohol that is where it is fermented grapes or fruits which means fruits are used to prepare wine whereas beer is a fermented cereals product prominently barley is used.
Uses of alcoholic fermentation:
It is used to manufacture bread and in baking processes
It is used in the manufacturing of wine which is a major drink consumed all over the world.
It is used in the manufacturing of disinfectants such as sanitizer, soaps, etc.
It is the main ingredient in the preparation of phenol, ethanol, propanol, etc. these are used in laboratories for experiments.
