  • When an object does not allow light rays to pass through it, it is called an opaque object. We cannot see through them. Example: Wall, notebook. [1 mark]
  • When an object allows almost all the light rays to pass through it, it is called a transparent object. Example: Air, glass. [1 mark]
  • When an object allows only some light rays to pass through it, it is called a translucent object. Example: Wax paper, dusty windows. [1 mark]
