What is malnutrition?

  • According the World Health Organization, any deficiency, excess and irregularity in the intake of nutrients is malnutrition. It is two types:
1. Undernutrition, in which there are deficiencies in the consumption of the nutrients resulting in stunting, wasting and under-weight conditions.
2. Overnutrition, in which there is an excess in the consumption of the nutrients resulting in obesity, heart diseases and diabetes.
