Definition

Magnification means the expansion in image size caused by spherical mirrors in relation to the size of the object. It is the proportion of the image's height(${\mathrm{h}}_{\mathrm{i}}$) to the object's height(${\mathrm{h}}_{\mathrm{o}}$).

$\mathrm{m}=\frac{\mathrm{v}}{\mathrm{u}}=\frac{{\mathrm{h}}_{\mathrm{i}}}{{\mathrm{h}}_{\mathrm{o}}}$

Mirror formula,

The mirror formula can be represented as:

Here,

$\mathrm{f}$ is the focal length of the mirror.

$\mathrm{u}$ is the object distance (distance of the object from the mirror).
