If an object changes its position with respect to its surroundings with the passage of time, it is said to be in the state of motion.
Different types of mpotion are-
(1) linear motion- motion in a straight line. Example- motion of a car on a levelled straight road.
(2) Circular motion- Motion on a circular path. Example- motion of a stone tied to a thread and whirled in a circle.
(3) Rotational motion- Motion of a body about an axis. Example- motion of blades of a fan.
