Question

What is the number of water molecules contained in a drop of water weigh 0.06gram

Open in App
Solution

1 mole of water = 18 g

0.06 g = ------mole

Number of moles = given mass/molar mass
Given mass = 0.06 g
Molar mass of water = 18g/mol

Numbe of moles =0.06/18

= 3.33 X 10-3 mole of water

1 mole of water will have 6.022X1023molecules of water

3.33 X 10-3 mole of water will have -------molecules of water

= 6.022X1023 X 3.33 X 10-3

= 2 X 1021 molecule of water

0.06g of water will have 2 X 1021molecules of water
