Open in App
Solution
Hemoglobin:
The protein used for carrying the oxygen molecules to the different parts of the body through blood circulation is known as hemoglobin.
It is a part of the red blood cell.
The protein contains a heme group having iron atoms and polypeptide chains of globin.
Role of Globin Protein:
The globin polypeptide chains contain the binding sites for the heme group. The polypeptide chains keep the heme group in the structure of hemoglobin.
