Transition temperature is where both dominant forms of sulphur, \(\alpha\) and \(\beta,\) are stable. For sulphur, the transition temperature is \(368.5~K (or~ 95.5^\circ C),\) below which \(\alpha\)-sulphur is most stable and above which, \(\beta\)-sulphur is most stable.
