  1. Catalytic converters are used in automobile exhaust systems to allow dangerous by-products of fuel to be oxidized and reduced into less hazardous compounds like carbon dioxide, water vapor, and nitrogen gas.
  2. Catalytic converter shows its maximum efficiency when it works at high temperature i.e., 400°C.
  3. A catalytic converter is found to present in the front part of the exhaust system of a vehicle and it helps to reduce the emission of gaseous pollutants like hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides.
  4. A catalytic converter is also called an exhaust emission control device that converts toxic gases and pollutants into less toxic pollutants by catalyzing a redox reaction.
