What is tubectomy?

Open in App
Solution

Tubectomy is one of the method of permanent birth control in the female. A portion of the fallopian tube is cut off and the cut ends are sealed or ligated. This helps to prevent fertilisation. The egg which is released cannot move to the site of fertilisation. The sperms cannot travel near the egg and thus, fertilisation is prevented.
