What needs to be followed while writing the name of a binary ionic compound?
the first metallic part does not change & non-metallic part ends with -ide
While writing a binary ionic compound we have to remember that the first metallic part does not change but the non-metallic part ends with -ide
So for NaCl, we have to keep Na as it is " sodium" and follow it up with non-metal chlorine as "chloride"
Magnesium chloride MgCl2
