Question

What will happen if in a compound microscope, the objective lens is larger in size and has a larger focal length?

Open in App
Solution

If the objective lens of a compound microscope is larger in size, in addition to the light coming from the object, other unwanted light will be incident onto the objective lens. Hence, the image will not be seen clearly. If the objective lens has a larger focal length, the magnification produced by it will be lesser.
