When a student looks into the plane mirror, regular reflection takes place and a proper image is formed. However, when the student looks into the paper, most of the light is absorbed by the paper. The light reflected is irregular/diffused in nature and is reflected in all directions. Hence, no image is formed. Hence, he/she cannot see his image in the paper.
